Claude Pieray (c.1698-1729)

Was the best French maker of his time. He was a contemporary of Bocquay. PierrayÕs wood was better than BocquayÕs, and his work was of a higher quality than Bocquay. His purfling was very close to the edges.  He was successful, and must have been a generous person. When he died, he was owed 7.726 Livres by other people!
