This is a bench copy of a 1913 Giuseppe Fiorini violin. It was one of the instruments featured in the “Sounds of Bologna” exhibition. I have never made a bench copy before, so this was a first for me. It was completed in late December 2005. Overall I'm very pleased with the results, as is the original owner of the instrument it was made from. It has a very rich and organic sound, full of color and vibrant overtones. It is very responsive and would fit well in most any musical environment.
Photographs of the original as well as my own copy of the instrument can be seen in the gallery section, as well as further information about Giuseppe Fiorini.
