This Violin is the first of two violins that were made at the same time and completed in early January 2006. The outline is based on the strad "Hirt" violin of 1704, but any other similarities end there. Having just completed a bench copy of a 1913 Giuseppe Fiorini violin, I decided to continue with the mildly antiqued theme, as it's somewhat of a novelty for me. It’s tone is rich and complex, offering a broad range of dynamics. A very mature sounding instrument.
